Model Highlights
The 2007 GMC Sierra Classic is available in three different cab styles (regular, extended, and crew cab) and three different bed lengths (short, standard, and long, which measure 5'8", 6'6", and 8', respectively). The regular cab is only available with standard and long boxes and the crew cab is only available in short and standard boxes, while the extended cab is available with all three beds. Engines available on the Classic range include a 195-horsepower, 4.3L V6; a 285-horsepower 4.8L V8; and a 295-horsepower, 5.3L V8; along with a high-output 6.0L V8 on the top Denali model. Sierra Classic models with the 5.3L V8 have FlexFuel capability and can accept either gasoline or any combination of ethanol up to 85 percent. A unique Performance Edition option, offered on SLE and SLT extended cab models, brings a 6.0L V8, making 345 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, along with a high-performance suspension, heavy-duty automatic transmission and oil cooler, an automatic locking differential, and 20-inch chrome wheels. The 6.0L engine is also offered as part of a VortecMAX performance package, which serves to extend towing capability. The package includes a heavy-duty trailering package, uprated rear axle, automatic locking differential, and special badging. A 2WD extended cab Sierra Classic with and the standard box and the VortecMAX performance package can tow up to 10,400 pounds. The Hybrid Classic uses the 295-horsepower, 5.3L V8, hooked up to a system that automatically stops and restarts the engine at stoplights, and uses an integrated starter/generator that starts the engine quickly and provides the power to charge increased battery capacity. The Hybrid posts a city fuel economy improvement of about ten percent and serves the added function of being a mobile power source. Four 120-volt AC outlets are located under the back seat of the cab and in the pickup bed. At 20 amps each, they are robust enough for most power accessories, eliminating the need in some cases for a portable worksite generator. The Classic is available in many different trims, from the stark, basic Work Truck to the mid-range SL and the high-end SLT and Denali models, which can range from well equipped to downright luxurious. The SL adds popular equipment like dual-zone climate control, cruise control, and a CD sound system, while the SLT, for instance, adds power-folding side mirrors, leather upholstery, heated power front seats, keyless entry, and a premium Bose sound system. Anti-lock brakes are standard on all models. The stylish, top-of-the-line Denali has served as GM's flagship luxury pickup. It's offered only in the Crew Cab body style, and gets a distinctive front-end appearance that includes a chrome grille, projector-beam headlamps, and fog lamps. It also gets body-color door handles and side moldings, plus chrome assist steps and integral mudguards. Inside, the Denali Classic gets its own instrument panel and center console, a power moonroof, and two-tone leather upholstery. A Bose speaker system with Audio Pilot noise reduction is standard, too. Underhood, the Denali packs the 6.0L V8, paired with a full-time all-wheel drive system.
